The Chocolate Labrador Retriever is arguably the world’s favourite brown dog, but this was not always the case: a hundred or more years ago only black Labradors were ‘acceptable’ and brown Labradors were often culled at birth. In the 1920's and 30's brown Labradors began to make an appearance in shooting parties when they were known as Liver Labradors, but it was not until the 1960’s that they started to be become popular in their own right.
The sculpture is hot cast in solid bronze, individually numbered, signed by the artist and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity which is your guarantee that the piece is a genuine Unique Bronze casting approved by the sculptor.
